Treasury improves budget deficit estimate for Jan–May to 3 tln rbl

MOSCOW, Jul 10 (PRIME) -- The Federal Treasury has estimated the January–May deficit of the federal budget at 3.03 trillion rubles after a preliminary assessment of 3.411 trillion rubles by the Finance Ministry, according to a document published on its website Monday.

The treasury estimated income at 9.818 trillion rubles, the same as the ministry, while spending assessment was cut by 381 billion rubles to 12.848 trillion rubles.

The Finance Ministry said last week that budget deficit amounted to 2.595 trillion rubles in January–June, according to a preliminary estimate. Revenue dropped by 12% on the year to 12.381 trillion rubles, while spending grew 19% to 14.976 trillion rubles.

The federal budget law expects budget deficit at 2.925 trillion rubles in 2023.
